The UK heating market represents 40% of the total (non-transport) energy market. Wood heating is the lowest capital cost form of renewable energy and provides the most cost-effective means of atmospheric carbon reduction.
Urban areas located near to fuel supplies from city tree surgery operations or industries providing “clean” recycled wood can also benefit from wood fuelled heating. Not only can wood fuel provide extra income to these industries and reduce the amount of wood sent to landfill, but over the full lifetime of the system, modern wood boilers can also deliver heating costs competitive with those of most fossil fuels. |
